Martin van Aardt

Martin van Aardt

Artist

Martin was born and raised in South Africa and immigrated to Australia in 2020. Martin completed studies in Graphic Design and also pursued studies in his other passion Fine and Applied Arts. Today Martin continues thriving in both fields; working as a Graphic Designer and flourishing in the world of Fine Arts. First exhibiting his artworks in 2004, Martin feels that his continual involvement in the arts helps keep him creatively grounded.

Martin started presenting painting classes with Paint Pinot while working as a Senior Designer at the University of Canberra. The thing he loves the most about presenting painting classes for Paint Pinot is witnessing the joy experienced by his patrons achieving a sense of individuality and self expression in a finished canvas. Martin looks forward to seeing you at his next class on Thursday evenings. You can check out some of Martin’s creativity here: https://www.instagram.com/martinva13/

Jessica McLeod-Yu

Jessica McLeod-Yu

Artist

Jessica is one of the very talented artists we have here at Paint Pinot. Creative doesn’t even begin to describe Jessica having discovered her passion at just 3 years of age. She’s since graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Honours and now specialises in 2D animation and digital art. When she’s not teaching classes in the Paint Pinot studio, she enjoys producing videos on her artistic practise. In 2020, one of her videos was nominated for the Best Music Video at the Grammys (talk about amazing). We just love her energy and vibrant hair of course. Sebastian Roberts

Sebastian Roberts

Artist

Sebastian was born and raised in the south of England. He moved to Canberra to complete High School and has stayed in the area for almost 13 years now.

When Sebastian was young he was a voracious painter and this passion led him to complete a Bachelor of Visual Arts, majoring in painting. In his own practice he is interested in capturing and somewhat abstracting moments where the everyday seems surreal. He also likes to paint things that go unseen and to look at built environments from unexpected vantage points.

Throughout University, Sebastian worked in hospitality where he continues to this day. When he is not facilitating art sessions you’ll find him working in the kitchen, behind the bar, or doing barista work elsewhere. He loves that this job gives him the opportunity to make the most of both his hospitality and painting experience.

Sebastian doesn’t know what the next step is but is really enjoying his role at Paint Pinot. He particularly likes that the sessions are about finding the fun in painting.

"Fun painting experience! They also now do breakfast on weekends - had tasty French toast!"
